Don’t Swipe Right and Ghost… Your Rejected Date May Want to Bathe in Your Blood

31-year-old Arizona woman Jacqueline Ades met a man online as a lot of single folks do now-a-days.

They went on one date and she could not get her date victim out of her mind. Since meeting him, she has sent him 65,000 texts messages.

That’s right, you read that correctly: 65,000 texts messages! Court documents show that Ades was averaging approximately 500 text messages a day to the love of her life.

Let’s further break that down just for fun. There’s 24 hours in a day. Let’s PRETEND she was actually getting 8 hours of rest and dreaming sweet dreams of her hopeful future hubby. That leaves 16 hours in her day which means she was averaging 31 texts per hour or a text every 2 minutes.

WOW, HOMEGIRL was slipping and sliding all over his DMS!

It makes you wonder what she could possibly be saying to him! Any good one-liners you can take to your Bumble or Tinder account? That’s a big NOPE!

Here’s some examples of the messages she sent:

“I want to wear your bodyparts & bathe in your blood”

“Don’t ever try to leave me…I’ll kill you…I don’t want to be a murderer…”

Maybe you’re wondering how the hell did the texting escalate from flirting to this. Well, here’s a little timeline:

July 2017: She parked outside of the man’s Paradise Valley, Az home after he stated he had already let her down. After he asked her to leave and she refused, he called the police. She was still outside when officers arrived and they told her to leave.

December 2017: This happened again but this time, she was gone by the time the police arrived. The victim stated that he started receiving threatening text messages from her.

April 8 2018: The victim called the police a third time. He stated that he was out of the country but caught her on his home security and surveillance system.

Where was she when she was finally arrested? Oh you know, police found her casually relaxing in his BATHTUB! Officers say they also found a butcher knife in her car on the passenger seat.

She was taken into custody and charged with trespassing. After being released from jail she allegedly picked up where she left off with texting threatening messages to him.

May 4 2018: Police were called to a local Scottsdale, AZ business by a passerby. The caller stated “a woman was acting irrationally and claiming to be the owner’s wife.” The owner was none other than the man she had been harassing since the first date.

As of Tuesday May 8, 2018, she has been charged with threatening, stalking, and harassment. She is currently in jail with no bond.

When questioned by by police, Ades explained that she sent the man text messages all day but he never responded. She stated she understands her texts were “crazy” but she didn’t want him to leave her because she loved him.

She also stated that she plans to move to Florida once she’s released… so be careful who you ghost out there, Florida singles!

Cult Physician Charged with Conducting Illegal Human Experiments

Sex cults? Human experiments? Fear studies? What the fuck is going on in upstate New York?

Well, there’s this cult-like self-help group known as NXIVM (pronounced Nex-e-um), which is based out of Albany but has chapters across the country. On its official website, NXIVM is described as, “a community guided by humanitarian principles that seek to empower people and answer important questions about what it means to be human.” Apparently finding out what it means to be human includes seeing how one reacts to watching videos of rape and dismemberment, but hold that thought.

The leader of NXIVM is a man named Keith Raniere, 57, known within the group as “Vanguard.” Like most cult leaders, Raniere doesn’t have a great reputation. He’s known to be extremely manipulative and abusive, and clearly has no respect for women. Rainere has allegedly maintained a rotation of 15 to 20 women he’s had active intimate relationships with, and it is required that the women remain sexually faithful to him. NXIVM promotes men having multiple sexual partners while women must remain faithful to one man.

Now that you have a better understanding of the vibe of this cult — I mean community — let’s discuss the controversy that brought NXIVM national attention last fall. It came to light that female members of the community were being asked to enter a “secret sisterhood” with the purpose of empowering women, but, not surprisingly, these poor women got far more than they bargained for. Red flag number one is that the women who were to be initiated into the group were referred to as “slaves.” The women also had to provide naked photographs or other incriminating material that could be used as collateral should the existence of the group be exposed. As if all this isn’t bad enough, they were also told they would be given a small tattoo as part of the initiation. Instead, their naked bodies were held down for 20-30 minutes while they were branded with a symbol using a cauterizing device. The symbol contains Raniere’s initials.

Raniere was arrested in March, charged with sex trafficking and forced labor conspiracy. If convicted, he faces a potential life sentence.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the rape and dismemberment videos (aka yes, this story gets worse). Not surprisingly NXIVM has made headlines again last week when the resident physician of the group, Dr. Brandon Porter, 44, was charged by a state oversight board for conducting illegal human experiments.

The state Office of Professional Medical Conduct has charged Porter with moral unfitness, gross negligence and gross incompetence, as well as other charges. According to the OMPC, Porter allegedly showed “human subjects an actual video of the horrific and brutal murders and dismemberment of four women by machetes; and violent film clips, including a male African American being viciously stomped by a Nazi; a conscious male being force to eat a portion of his own brain matter; and graphic gang rape.” Holy shit.

Jennifer Kobelt, a former NXIVM member, is one of the people Porter performed his experiments on. She claims Porter filmed her as he forced her to watch disturbing rape and dismemberment videos for a study he was conducting on fear. According to Kobelt, this “fright study” may have been performed on as many as 100 people. “He continued to film my reaction for at least 10 minutes as I just sat there, dry heaving like I was going to puke and crying very hard,” reports Kobelt. Kobelt reported Porter’s unethical actions to the OMPC back in September, but was told “the issues you have described are not medical misconduct.”

Fortunately, Porter was recently charged by the OMCP even though they originally shrugged off the claims against him. He has a hearing scheduled for June 27th and faces having his medical license revoked or suspended.

Hart Island: New York City’s Island of the Dead

The dead are coming out of the earth on a New York City burial ground not far from the Bronx borough. Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly the zombie apocalypse I’ve been hoping for seeing as the corpses are not coming back to life, they’re just being exposed due to erosion. However, the recent media coverage of this issue lead me to finally write about a place that has intrigued me for quite some time now — Hart Island.

Hart Island, located in the western Long Island Sound and spanning over 100 acres in size, was purchased by the city in 1868 for $75,000. The original intent behind its purchase was to establish a workhouse for boys from the House of Refuge on Riker’s Island, but it soon began being used as a burial site for unknown or indigent people. Burial records date all the way back to May 1881 and continuing to the present day. Due to gaps in documentation, it is unsure exactly how many bodies rest on Hart Island, although it is estimated it may be as many as one million. It is the largest tax-funded cemetery in the world.

To think that this many unidentifiable people have died in New York City that they’ve designated an island to bury them on is mind-blowing, but what is even crazier is that this is not the first of its kind. Most large cities have one of these designated areas, which are known as “potter fields.” In fact, Hart Island is actually NYC’s tenth potter’s field, with previous locations in Washington Square, Bellevue Hospital, Madison Square, the NYC Public Library, Wards Island and Randall’s Island.

Potter’s fields are defined as a piece of land used as a burial place for the poor, or in some places, strangers to the community. The term originates from the Bible’s Gospel of Matthew. Judas Iscariot was paid thirty pieces of silver for betraying Jesus, but his guilt drove him to return the money to the temple. However, the priests at the temple did not want to accept what is known as “blood money,” so they used it to purchase an area of land near Jerusalem where they could bury the poor and the foreign. The area of land was purchased from a pot-maker and thus, the term “potter’s field” was born. Because the land was purchased with the blood money, it is also referred to as “the Field of Blood.”

“Then Judas, which had betrayed Him, saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests… and they took counsel, and bought with them the potters field to bury strangers in.” – Matthew (27:3-8)

So what determines that a body is sent to Hart Island? Well, when a body turns up, it goes into the custody of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where it will remain until identified and claimed by relatives. Any bodies that are unclaimed are transferred to the Department of Corrections for burial.

The Department of Corrections? Huh? Yes, you read correctly. The Department of Correction maintains and operates the City Cemetery on Hart Island and the burials are performed by inmates. The video below shows inmates performing a mass burial in 1990.

Today, the inmates are transported from Rikers Island on weekdays where they perform the burials, disinterments and maintenance of the island. They are paid a small hourly fee for their labor. An average of 2,000-3,000 burials are performed each year.

Aside from a massive graveyard, Hart Island has served many purposes over the years. Originally, the island was used as a prison camp for Confederate soldiers during the Civil War in 1865. In 1870, a portion of the island housed patients with yellow fever in isolation. It is around this time that the island first served as a grave site. It is said the first body to be buried was a woman named Louisa Van Slyke. She was a 24-year-old orphan who died from yellow fever.

The island also served as a tuberculosis hospital, a reformatory for men that later housed aged male prisoners and overflow from other New York City prisons. During the second World War, Hart Island became a barracks for Navy, Coast Guard and Military troops. At one point, three German soliders appeared in a U-Boat near Long Island. They were captured and imprisoned on the island. Since WWII, the island operated as a jail and a narcotic rehabilitation program.

Now that you understand the history, let’s talk more about why Hart Island has been popping up in the news recently. This past Monday, 174 exposed bones were recovered from the City Cemetery due to years of storms causing erosion to the shoreline. According to Melinda Hunt of The Hart Island Project, “Entire skeletons are sort of flling out of the hill onto the beach, and then they’re washed away with the tide.”

Screen Shot 2018-04-26 at 6.07.48 PM.png

According to Hunt, who has been following the ongoings at Hart Island for several decades, the Department of Corrections has been aware of the problem for some time but has not done anything about it until just recently. Archaelogists have been using red flags to mark human remains once identified and the plan is that they will be re-buried by inmates.

Council Mark Levine is just as shocked as you probably are that the island is being run by the Department of Corrections and he is trying to have control of the island transferred to the Department of Parks and Recreation to allow families of the deceased to visit the graves. Levine makes a great point by saying, “It’s simply wrong that people who are neglected in life, who are marginalized in life in the city are now getting the same treatment in this burial ground.”

The Department of Corrections is claiming it is working on getting its act together, telling CBS2 recently that it will start monthly inspections and reconstruct the shoreline to ensure the graves are stable.

Young Man Uses Facebook to Confess to Two Murders

People use Facebook for a variety of reasons. The social media platform can be used to stay in touch with relatives, post vacation pictures and… confess to murder.

At least that is what 23-year-old Casey James Lawhorn used his Facebook page for this morning when he submitted a post describing in vivid detail how he murdered his mother and best friend early Sunday morning. In the post, the young man made the following chilling statement: “I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about murder, wondering what it feels like. But I’ve barely felt anything.”

Lawhorn discusses in the post how he shot his best friend, 22-year-old Avery Gaines, with a stolen rifle. Gaines was dozing off on the couch when Lawhorn entered his bedroom, retrieved the rifle, and then shot his friend in the head once. In his confession, Lawhorn said Gaines, “seemed to die instantly.”

Apparently one victim was not enough for Lawhorn, so he made his way into his mother’s bedroom. He reports in the Facebook post that she was “disoriented from alcohol.” When Lawhorn went to pull the trigger on his mother, 54-year-old Vi Lawhorn, the rifle jammed. He fixed the weapon and fired off twice, but he “missed anything vital” due to the darkness of the room. According to Lawhorn, his mother “started screaming the worst scream I’ve ever heard. Movies really don’t do justice to how true the terror sounds.” It doesn’t appear Lawhorn was phased by the screams because he proceeded to shoot her again.

After the fatal shot to his mother, he then took some heroin and cash from his friend’s pockets before hopping into his 2002 gold Ford Taurus and heading toward Mississippi. At some point, the killer’s car broke down on I-59. It was at this time that he wrote the Facebook post, which included some insight to his frame of mind. Lawhorn stated, “I was shaking from adrenaline, but I felt nothing other than that, except maybe disgust at the corpse in front of me and the noises it was making.”

On Sunday evening, 911 received a call from Lawhorn. Stan Allen, East Ridge Assistant Police Chief, told ABC News, “The suspect called and identified himself. He told us that he had committed the crime and that he was going to a location north of our city to find a secluded spot to kill himself.”

Lawhorn’s body was found this morning in Mississippi with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Modern-Day Norman Bates Arrested with Severed Head in Suitcase

All you ladies out there seeking love online can breathe a little easier as a modern-day Norman Bates was recently arrested in Japan. He was discovered to be traveling with the severed head of a woman he met on an online dating site in his suitcase when he was apprehended.

26-year-old Yevgenity Vasilievich Bayraktar was arrested on February 22nd while traveling in Japan from Long Island, though he is originally from Odessa, Russia. He had been traveling in the country since January. His arrest was based on the suspicion that he had murdered 27-year-old Saki Kondo, who was reported missing by her family on February 16th.

Authorities report that on February 15th, the day before Kondo was reported missing, she went on a date with Bayraktar. The two had met on an online dating site. Bayraktar took his date to a vacation home he was renting in Osaka. It is said that this is where he dismembered the woman between February 16th and 18th before attempting to leave to go to another rental apartment. It was at this time that he was apprehended by authorities, who discovered Kondo’s severed head in Bayraktar’s luggage.

As if this case isn’t interesting enough as is, there has been a lot of discussion since Bayraktar’s arrest regarding the strangely close relationship he has with his mother. Before leaving to travel in Japan, he was living with her and her third husband in Long Island.

Benny Dacy, 69, is Bayraktar’s former stepfather. Dacy reports that he made many attempts to bond with his bride’s son, but Bayraktar kept mostly to himself but was very close with his mother. “He was a momma’s boy. If we were having dinner and he didn’t like the food, his mother would get up in the middle of the meal to cook him something special, and this was at a time when we didn’t have a lot of money.”

Anyone who is familiar with Alfred Hitchcock’s infamous character from his notorious film Psycho will notice that there are undeniable similarities between Norman Bates and Bayraktar. I am interested to see what other information will come to light in this case. But for now, it looks safe to take a shower again. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for online dating. Use your heads out there, people, or you might lose them.

Man Found Cooking His Ex-Wife’s Remains

We all know divorce is not always pretty, but the way one man in Mexico took care of his former spouse is something straight out of ‘Silence of the Lambs.’

Magdalena Aguilar Romero, 25, went to the home of her ex-husband, Ceser Gomez Arciniega, to pick up her children on the morning of January 13th. Unfortunately for Ms. Romero, this was the last time she was seen alive.

According to Roberto Alvarez, state security spokesman, the woman’s remains were found in the home of her former husband. More specifically, they were found in the kitchen. It appears the man was trying to cook the remains, as her arms and legs were found in pots on the stovetop. Her pelvis, already cooked, was found in a bag by the stove. The rest of the woman’s body was located in the refrigerator.

Arciniega is being investigated for committing femicide, the act of murdering someone simply because of their gender. You can read more on this sickening story here.

Woman Kills Daughter With Crucifix

An Oklahoma woman was convicted Thursday of murdering her daughter by shoving a crucifix and medallion down her throat.

Jaunita Gomez, 51, believed her daughter Geneva Gomez, 33, was possessed by the devil. When police arrived on the scene, Geneva’s body was found with her arms spread out as if she had been crucified and there was a large crucifix. Jaunita admitted to police that she shoved a crucifix down her daughter’s throat and watched as she took her last breaths.

Despite attempts to appear incompetent, a psychologist determined that Jaunita was able to stand trial. Jurors recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole.
